Creating Videos and taking selfies at the gym has just gotten easier

Selfie fiends take note: you can ditch the stick and still get a high-angle shot or video. You just have to spend a bit of money to do it. You may be tempted to call this a drone because it has propellers and a camera. It’s not. Drones by definition have some sort of autonomous flight capability, whether it be as basic as GPS-assisted return-to-home or as advanced as automated flight and obstacle avoidance.

As far as we can tell, the new AirSelfie is about the same size and weight as the original drone, coming in at 3.72 x 2.71 x 0.45 inches, with a weight of just over two ounces. The company says the device is able to fly about 60 feet from its base.

“When you’re looking to capture life’s important moments, dramatic scenery, or large group shots, you want a combination of best-in-class technology and ease of use. The AirSelfie2 delivers precisely that,” CEO Stefano Cabella said.

The second-generation drone is a perfect choice for selfie-lovers out there. It’s available from the AirSelfie online store, as well as from Amazon as of July 17. The drone comes in at $199.95, and is available in silver, black, gold, and rose gold. The original only came in silver.

In addition to the drone, there’s a power bank for recharging, a USB cable for connecting to a computer, and a protective bumper.

The drone can be controlled with one hand via the app (iOS and Android) and can fly up to 20 meters high. When you’re ready to snap a photo or video, it will hover autonomously — whether indoor or out.

Three flight modes allow you to pilot the AirSelfie with varying degrees of control. The most basic is Selfie mode, where just on-screen buttons move the drone farther away or closer to you.

Selfie Motion Control mode allows you to control the airselfie pocket drone with a virtual joystick for more flight options. Rotate the phone into landscape orientation to engage Flight mode, which turns your phone into a classic controller, giving you full freedom. Once you find the perfect spot, the AirSelfie will automatically hover
